Can I have any domain name?

There are specific rules as to what kind of names and structure that a domain name can have.

Domain name structure

These can vary slightly from country to country. .com and .net names should be less than 63 charaters, excluding the extension.

Domain extensions

Some domain extensions (or TLD) are intended for general, business, educational or non-commercial use. These can then be sub-divided into country-specific domain extensions.
